Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 104 "Act on your dreams." PROMISES Message

Hey guys!

 Happy New Years!!!! Yahhh!!!

Well, I'm sitting here at work (yes, I am working on New Years), and I'm just thinking about my last few words on the blog for 2010. This is so awesome! :) I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excitied about the new upcoming year. There's only about 1 hour left before the New Year hits Alaska. But after I'm done blogging, it might appears as though I posted this in the New Year (which is off, so I've noticed when I blog). But anyway! Happy New Years guys! I hope you're having a fun, good, clean time celebrating! :)

The youth center is open until New Years and then we're driving the kids home in the yukon specific for dropping off and picking kids up. There's a huge bonfire going on outside and the neighborhood is full of fire works. I just came back inside from the bonfire and I have two holes in my jacket from the sparking hot ashes.
Bummer.

You know, about a week ago I jotted down all of the important events that took place in my life during 2010, and there were quite a lot. This year has definitely been challenging, growing, and full of events. I have most definitely changed a lot. But I wouldn't change anything for the world. I am thankful for every moment.

Well guys,

My dream for 2011 is to have a joyful and peaceful year. So let's hope for that and let's act on our dreams! And I hope to hear back from the casting companies that I submitted my resumes to! :) That's a dream in itself! :)

Love you guys!

Have a blessed New Year!

 Yah!!!

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier! :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 103 "Be a friend today." PROMISES Message

Hey guys!

Today has been a pretty interesting day.

We went grocery shopping after work today and I just had absolutely no appetite for any of the foods that I love and regularly eat. That's just plain weird! Seriously! NOTHING looked good to me AT ALL! Infact, I even bypassed my favorite beverage! The Odwalla Supernutrient drink! Wow! That says something cause I love that stuff! What's wrong with me?!? I have no clue!

Well anyway...I think it probably has to do something with my new exercising routine. I've been exercising regularly for the past 5 days on my newly bought mini trampoline. Maybe my appetite is curbed or something? I don't know. Well anyway...today has been a pretty...you know, chill day, I guess. Everything kinds just feels different. I was thinking, maybe I'm just completely satisfied with life and I'm getting an "I don't care" type of feeling...or...maybe it's even the exact opposite, maybe I'm completely dissatisfied with life and I'm getting the "something's missing / I don't care" feeling. I have no clue. But both things can produce the same result. You know? It's just kind of a weird place to be. I feel kind of complacent. Is that weird? Have you ever gone through that? Haha! I was just thinking that it almost feels like a midlife crisis. Except...that's it not.

Well...I've just been kinda shluming around day to day, doing the same old thing, get up in the morning, exercise, go to work, come home, blog, go to sleep. Maybe I feel this way (restless) because I'm on Christmas break and I have more time on my hands than I have for awhile. Yeah, I venture to say that that's probably it. It feels good to have more time on my hands, but it's just so...unnatural. Especially because I just came from a super vigorous schedule from work, school, the play, choir rehersal, and all of the other little tid bits of life. Well...since winter break started, I've pretty much cleaned the entire house, (it's the cleanest it's ever been in two whole years! Yah! That is definitely an accomplishment! One that I'm most certainly proud of!), and I've started taking Spanish lessons with http://www.livemocha.com/ (it's a cheap version of Rosetta Stone). And I guess other changes have happened here and there. And I guess I'm just getting back into the swing of things. Just came home from a four day trip visiting family for Christmas. That was a blast.

Well anyway...back to today's quote. Be a friend today. Today has been pretty interesting. It seems as though I've made friends with some of the regular kids the come to Joel's Place. By regular I mean the ones that come ALL the time. Today was different, we joked around a lot, talked about school, life and other stuff, I listened, and I we all just had a good laugh. I felt more like a friend to the kids instead of an employee. It was pretty cool. I look forward to getting to know them more. It's pretty cool working at a youth center. And I guess right now I just want to be more available to the youth that come. I don't just want to "work" there, I want to notice the youth and let them know that I'm there if they need me to be.

Well guys,

I'm going to go. It's 2:32 AM and I've spent the last hour cleaning out my computer and deleting stuff, hopefully I gained more memory on my computer because now it's running a whole lot faster, which I'm pretty happy about. I had to go through that process because the computer was so slow it wouldn't allow me to blog. It took me 2 minutes for any click of the mouse to work. It sucked. So yeah, I'm here now. Blogging freely without any hiccups from my good ol' compy pal.

AND now, I am going to get off this computer and play Skip Bo with my pizza pocket eating husband. Who eats pizza pockets at 2 AM? My husband. He's a college kid and his metabolism runs 500 gazillion miles per hour.

Well...I am going to go be a friend cause right about now I need one. :)

Love ya'lls!

G'night!

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., Have you ever played Skip Bo? It's a blast of a card game! You should try it! :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 102 "Be a little naughty with your nice." PROMISES Message

Why hello there! :)

Guess what? Our car worked fine so now we're home! :) Yah!!! :)

Although I do miss hanging out with my family. Gee, that's probably the sucky thing about growing up, is that you're not always around your family. I really miss that. But with new ages come new adventures. So I guess that's the positive side of things.

Well, I feel really sick right now. Just ready for bed.

Even though I felt sick, I did work a half a day today. So that worked out fine. I only work 3 1/2 hours on half days. But on regular days I work 7 hours. So, in reality it's not all that bad. It's actually quite a nice schedule for a student, which I am.

So, for Christmas, one of our relatives gave us a $50.00 gift card to Wal*Mart and Brian's sister gave us a $50.00 Visa gift card. We need every bit we can get right now. But...I decided to be naughty today and I bought myself a trampoline. Yep. You read me right! Not a giant trampoline, mind you, but a small one that you can jump on in the comfort of your own home. At first Brian told me that I should watch my spending and that I can't always get what I want all the time. But then I kinda talked him into it. So I felt bad about that. I really should watch myself. Shopping is probably one of my skeletons. I'm not a shopoholic, but I think I have an unrealistic view when it comes to shopping and a spending limit. This is definitely something that I need to work on.

Well anyway, just want to explain why I got the trampoline. I've been wanting one for about a little over half a year now. I kept telling myself I'd get one but I just kept putting it off. So now, since we got a couple of gift cards, I decided to purchase one. And I'm lovin' it. You know why? Because it's cheap and easy exercise! It's exercise for slouchers like me! :) Lately I've been having trouble with exercising or getting to the point of exercising. I mean, sure, I'm lovin' it when I actually exercise, but keeping the habit is a whole 'nother story. Tell you what! It's the truth! I mean, I bought insanity this summer, and I was a little close to a month into it (half way) and then other things got in the way and so I never really got back on...and it's the same story for every attempted exercise program I've tried since then and since the last two years. So it's just not working out for me. It's hard to get in the habbit and keep it. I figure if I exercise easy for 6 days a week for a year, I'll get to the level of physicality that I want. But for now, I am where I am, and I need help, a bit of a boost to even get there.

So Brian's Aunt, which is my Auntie has lost a whole lotta weight this summer. And you know how she did so? She jumped (basically lightly jogged) on a trampoline for a whole summer. She looks fantastic and feels fantastic! And you know what? She would just set the timer, and start jogging, and she would watch T.V. while she was doing it! How cool is that? Now that is what I call exercise! :) A trampoline is light on your joints, is fun because you bounce, and is a super easy workout. And of course you can switch it up to a couple of jumping jacks here and there and what every else you can think of on a trampoline. So since visint Aunt Tammy on Christmas break, I absolutely fell in love with this trampoline idea, and decided that I had to get one asap to just start getting into a habbit of exercising, getting stronger, leaner, and fitter. And you know what? Today is day number one of buying it, but day number two of exercising on a trampoline, and I'm ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT! I figured that I sit and watch The Nanny for half an hour every day anyway when I get home, so why not throw in some trampoline action while watching it? Fitness + T.V. = easy, cheap, and mind numbing exercising. I'm totally loving it! :) I just love how easy it is and that I'm getting in shape all at the same time! Why did I not think of this earlier? World, get ready for a stronger more in shape me! :) I can't wait to have more energy! I love that exercising gives me more energy.

Well,

Off to bed I go friends!

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., You might want to consider getting yourself a cheap little trampoline as well. ;)

And P.P.S., Did you know that the trampoline is so easy on your joints that it's recommended as the number one exercising tool for elderly people? Cool! :)  (I LOVE THAT'S IT'S EASY ON YOUR JOINTS).

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 101 "Enjoy life, it is the greatest gift." Paula / Layfayette, LA

Hey ya'lls!!! :)

Today was a great day! I throughly enjoyed it! What a day! What fun! :)

Well, actually, today started out to be a sick day, so I took the day off from work (hence why I didn't blog last night 'cause I took NyQuill and was out in a minute), and we started our 2 hour drive back home but our car started wigging out. So what we thought would be a sick day of staying in bed at home, turned out to be an extra vacation day with the family because we had to turn back around and go back to Delta. It was kind of a bummer at first because we already made it a little more than half of the way home, but the car wasn't working right, and in Delta we have family that can fix it for free instead of paying for it in Fairbanks. So it totally worked out. I ended up spending the entire day with my little cousins. And it was a blast!!! They are two little sweet girls. We did our nails together (nail art!) and it was my very first time sitting down and painting my nails like that. I had painted little flowers on them, pink flowers, green stems and leaves, on purple nails. It was so girly and sooo much fun! :) Then after that, we painted pictures on canvases. It was fun. We made all kinds of messes, watched movies, and just hung out. And to top the day off, we read each other some Dr. Seuss bed time stories. And ya know what? We had an absolute blast! :) What a perfect day! (I hope I don't get them sick), that is the only down side. I tried to keep as much distance, didn't breathe on them, washed my hands often. So fingers crossed is that I didn't pass on my germs.

I really enjoyed life today, although it's not the type of relaxing that I had originally planned, it was still most definitely a relaxing and very fun day. I wouldn't change a moment of it.

Well guys,

Night night!

-LOVE YOUR FELLOW CHOCOLATIER

P.S., Funny story: both girls have two separate rooms (which they got seperated here recently), and since Brian and I are spending the night, the youngest one was put back into her old room with her older sister. And it's funny because originally both of us had planned to sleep on the couch, well I had atleast. And when the youngest one found out that I was planning on sleeping on the couch, she said "oh no, you can sleep in my bed and I can sleep in my old room." I told her that that's okay, I was totally fine with sleeping on the couch. And then minutes later, her mom walks up to me and says that she is putting the youngest one in her older sister's room and that both Brian and I are going to sleep on the youngest one's bed. When she overheard that, she said "ewwwww!!! No Way!!! Mom, no!!!" And it was just hilarious!!!! (After that she walked out as she said,"I'm not going to sleep in that bed for three days after this). LOL. She didn't want Brian to sleep in her bed because he drools, and because he is a boy. You know, boy cooties. LOL!!! :)

Well okay, night guys!

And here are some videos to top of the night if you have some time, they are my favorite clips from one of my new fav movies! Despicable Me! :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 100 "Expect only the best, the future is yours." Dede / St. Louis, MO

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS!!!!

Today has been such a beautiful day! I love all of the holiday cheer, and I love love love love spending time with my family. It's just been a very neat day. Most certainly one that I am thankful for.

Well, after a good jolly day of celebrating Christmas together as a family, (relatives and all), we wrapped up the night with having a little family movie night at Dad's house. We watched SALT (pretty good movie, did you know that Angelina Jolie did all of her own stunts in that movie? Brave girl! That is admirable!), and then we topped of the night with watching one of my new favs, DISPICABLE ME!!! Super adorable movie! I love it! :)
I wouldn't mind having me some of my own little yellow squishy minions. ;) They are sooo cute! =D

Well guys,

The Old Year is almost at a wraps, and a New Year is about to begin, and right now I am hopeful in expecting only the best in my future, in our futures. I am looking forward to what this next chapter of life will unravel.

Cheers and Merry Christmas! Don't forget what it's all about! ;)

Here's a cute video my sister sent me;

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 99 "Do not waste a moment. Love life." Deb / Helena, MT

Hey guys!

Happy Merry Joyful Christmas Eve! (Well, technically Christmas!) :) Yah!!!

Today has been a pretty eventful day (well, not THAT eventful, actually). It's just been kinda normal. Besides driving down to Delta on icy roads, seeing 5 moose, and it being Christmas Eve, it's been pretty gosh darn normal.

The funnest part of my day which I absolutely LOVED was when I spent time with my litte cousins. (They got to open one Christmas present tonight and they chose mine!) Yeah! :) It was a lot of fun seeing their little faces brighten up when they opened up their presents and saw their toys. This reminds me of how Christmas is so magical, especially for little kids. Well, I take that back, Christmas is pretty magical at any age. :)

Well guys,

I just got done watching "All About Steve," with Brian and Brittany, and it was a lot of fun. We have a very chill time and I loved every moment of it. Brittany just left because I kicked her off her computer (she's letting me borrow her computer), but she tried to read my blog as I was writing it, and I can type with someone watching over my shoulder. :) That's just how it is.

Well guys,

I am going to bed because I am actually pretty tired. And goodness me, we all know I have to wake up for Christmas presents tomorrow! ;) Nahh, actually, the entire family (all of us brothers and sisters in laws and such) are coming over to Dad's house and opening presents. So that should be fun.

However, it's definitely time for me to go to bed.

K,

Night night guys!

-LOVE YOUR MERRY FELLOW CHOCOLATIER!!! :)

P.S, Brian and I went to a candle light service tonight, and it was a lot of fun, very family-like.

Let's not forget the real reason for the season!

K guys! God bless! And have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! =D

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 98 "Engage Others. Inspire All. Believe in YOU." Gretchen / Hatley, WI

Hey guys!

Well, I'mmmm backkkk!!! :)

Sorry I haven't written in awhile! I've been falling asleep before I could blog for the last three days. I've been on a messed up schedule since getting stuck at work overnight that one time. But now, I'm pretty much back on my regular schedule. Believe, I had the intention to blog, but ...sleep took over. :)

I can't believe that Christmas Eve is tomorrow!!! Wow! This year had gone by so fast! It's almost 2011!!! Crazy!

I am so proud of myself right now. The ENTIRE house is clean! Cleaner than it's every been in the past year and a half! Yah!!!! :) It just feels soooo good to have a clean house! I definitely feel accomplished. I work part time and go to school part time, and between the two and other responsibilites, I don't have too much time to clean. But I've been really enjoying and taking advantage of Christmas break so far! And I did it! Yahhh!!!! :)

Well, right now, my cousin Nina is over here. It's her first time at our house and we're just hangin.' We're having a girl's night in! Yahhh!!! :) We watched Elf (my first time ever watching it!), and now we're watching The Nanny. We're having a blast! And I drank some egg nog (yum!!).  I have to drive her to the airport at 5am, she's going to spend Christmas with friends. And I can't wait until tomorrow because we will be going down to Delta for Christmas! Can't wait! :)

Well, dad is in town and he's spending the night too. :) They're spending quality time together at the theaters watching Tron in 3D. They invited me, but I opted out, I was on a cleaning frenzy. And boy am I glad I stayed home! I am just so happy that it's clean! It feels good!  And it's fun having a girls night it.

Oh, and one more note, today at work, Mark made an AMAZING dinner! It was soooo delicious! He made BBQ ribs! And man oh man! They were the best ribs I've ever eaten! SOOO GOOD!!! GOOD JOB MARK!!!! YUM!!!

Well guys,

I am going to spend some more time with my cuz. We're going to eat some more food and watch some more Nanny. Tonight is fun night! And it's been a pretty good day!

With Christmas Cheer,

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier :)

P.S., I gave out Christmas presents to my co-workers today and my cousin, they weren't much, but they loved the presents. Hopefully those presents inspired the people I love. :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 98 "Do it for a loved one!" PROMISES Message

Hey fam bam! :)

Oh boy, am I tired or what! :) Time for b-e-d. Or, should I say, wayyy past time for bed!? It's 5:35 freakin' am!

Well...today has been a supremely emotional day today. Not good. Not fun. Big headache. But life goes on.

So I don't really wanna spill the beans on what my problems are, but I will spill the beans on one part, is that everything is now okay and forgiveness took it's place. So...we are all good in the neighborhood.

Well...anyway. I'm tired, so I may sound ridiculous, so bear with me will ya? :)

Anyway...I would say that's what I did today for my loved one. I forgave. It took me awhile. Sometimes when something happens that I don't particularly like and I am overwhelmed with emotion, then it's hard for me to forgive quickly, it usually takes a couple of hours, because I have to, you know, calm down. So..but all is well now.

Well, that's that. Oh, and we had strike today (tore the set down and cleaned) at the theater because yesterday was our final performance. I had a really good experience, the cast and crew were amazing, they became like family. But I am most certainly glad it's over. At least for now, because I need a break. Maybe that also gave into my overwhelmingness. But I did have a super duper great experience in this play. It was fun.

Well,

I better get goin.'

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S. I wrapped gifts for my loved ones today! Albeit, the presents really aren't that expensive cause we don't have a lotta money, but they are definitely from the heart.

Kay-Kay! Goodnight loves!

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 97 "A good love is delicious because you can never get enough." PROMISES Message

Hey there!

 Well,

I simply agree. A good love is delicious because you truly can never get enough.

Here are a couple of things I can never get enough of, (probably means I love 'em).

  • God
  • My husband
  • My family
  • My friends
  • Acting
  • Singing
  • Chocolate
  • Painting
  • Photography
  • Burritos
  • Playing the piano
  • Laughing with others
  • Hugs
  • Smiles
  • Love (I LOVE love).  :)
  • Pets
I guess I can say I just love life, and I am thankful for it.

Well guys,

I guess I'm going to chill out for a little while, because I'm not quite sleepy yet even though it is 4:33 am, so I think I might play the piano or watch some t.v. I just got done painting. I finished one painting, and then painted another. Fun. :)

Well have a good night!

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., What can you never get enough of?

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 96 "All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt." PROMISES Message

Hello friends!

I trust you had a great day! I'm just finishing up mine...it's 5 o'clock in the morning. Ay curumba! It's wayyy past my bedtime! :) But I have a good excuse. I just finished watching the movie, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." All I have to say is...wow. This movie is excellent. The story is beautiful and deeply moving. I admit it, I cried. I love the LOVE that Benjamin and Daisy had between each other. It was simply beautiful. This movie made me really think about life. It made me all the more thankful for the people in my life and for the place and time I am in my life right now. There will be loses and gains...and I am just thankful for what is to come. And I'm certainly thankful for all the good that has happened in my life.

Here are a few quotes from the movie that stuck out to me;

Benjamin Button: Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.

Benjamin Button: You can be as mad as a mad dog at the way things went. You could swear, curse the fates, but when it comes to the end, you have to let go.
Benjamin Button: [Voice over; letter to his daughter] For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
Daisy: We all end up in diapers.

Daisy: Loving you is worth everything to me

Mrs. Maple: [at piano] It's not about how well you play, it's how you feel about what you play.
Benjamin Button: Some people, were born to sit by a river. Some get struck by lightning. Some have an ear for music. Some are artists. Some swim. Some know buttons. Some know Shakespeare. Some are mothers. And some people, dance.

Benjamin Button: It's a funny thing about comin' home. Looks the same, smells the same, feels the same. You'll realize what's changed is you.
Daisy: Would you still love me if I were old and saggy?
Benjamin Button: Would you still love ME if I were young and had acne? When I'm afraid of what's under the bed? Or if I end up wetting the bed?
Mrs. Maple: Benjamin, we're meant to lose the people we love. How else would we know how important they are to us?
Benjamin Button: I was thinking how nothing lasts, and what a shame that is.
Daisy: Some things last.
The last quote above is true. Love lasts. Some things last, and one of those things is love. We can all use some more love and give some more love. It truly is the one thing that is truly important in this life and will last for eternity.

Well guys,

Off to bed. I am going to go cuddle with my hubby.
I don't wanna miss a moment.

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., The New Year is almost here, now is a good time to take a few moments and think or re-evaluate the things that are most important in your life. One good question to start asking yourself now is "what will I wish I could have done more of when I'm on my death bed?" Is is making money, having a great career, or spending time with the people I love? Hopefully, it's the latter. :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 95 "Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves." Love Dove

Hey guys,

I'm trying to be happy right now...but it's just not working out. I somehow keep focusing on the negative. Bummer. Time for a mind operation. This is THAT bad. Well anyway...it's 2:07 am and I am still at work. Why you may ask? Well...actually, the proper term would be that I am "stuck" at work. Yes. You read me right. I am stuck. Correction, WE are stuck. You see, in Alaskan winters, -40 below weather is super cold, and if you don't plug your car in, you have a great chance of it not starting up due to the cold. So here we are. Cars' not started. Sitting here. At work. At 2:08 AM. Yes. That would be me and my husband. Stuck. Well...hmm...I've been doing my homework, trying to start the car...and creating little tunes here and there on aviary.com. But anuway...I'm being kind of a butthole to my husband, and I'm not meaning to be. So...it's time to turn it around. You see...he was supposed to plug the car in quite a while ago...around 2pm..but he didn't...he said that "time passed him by too quick." (Really, when a techie guy like him gets going on the computer, he can actually forget to do things). So all you sisters out there who are wives to techie husbands, I feel ya. But anyway...stuff happens. And I guess, why not make the best of it, right? How often do you get a slumber party with your husband at your work place? In the freezing cold? Not very often. So, let's wish for the best, hopefully the car starts up pretty soon, I think I'm going to go make myself a cup of hot chocolate or tea, maybe watch some Toy Story 3, attempt to do some more homework, and then hit the sack.

And P.S., I love my husband.

Well guys,

Nighty night,

Hope you are snuggling up in your cozy beds and have a warm tonight!

Burrr!!! I bet it's -50* out tonight. :S

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., on the bright side, I've been introduced to a website called, www.livemocha.com and it's an online language learning program, very similar to Rosetta Stone. So I can honestly say that I've become a intermediate beginner in Spanish in the last 5 hours. I can speak some pretty basic stuff. I tell ya what, I've learned more in the last 5 hours than I have in my entire Spanish semester in high school! Now that's somethin'! :) You should try it!
And it's fun!

Buenos Noches amigos! :)

And P.P.S., let's wear a happy attitude so we can bring sunshine into the lives of others! It's worth it! :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 94 "Remember the simple pleasures in life." Love Dove

Hey guys!

I'm keeping this one short, only because it 5:54 in the morning! Ahhh!!! What am I doing up so late? LOL!!! I really need to get to bed. Anyway.

Today was my day off from work, I finished and turned in my term paper, washed a mountain load of dishes for two hours straight (they are ALL done...mwhahahaha!!!), and now...I'm an adict to www.aviary.com's music creator. I've been diddling around on the music creator for the last couple of hours. And now I have to cut my addiction off and head to bed...otherwise I will stay up all night. This is too much fun. I blame the husband man because if he had not shown me this really cool feature on this website, then I would already have been in bed. ;)

So yeah, this is something I'm enjoying very much so. I love creating music, whether it's by computer or through actual instruments. Here guys, check out my beat that I created;

Anyway...today has been a pretty good day. I needed a stay-at home day. It's been good. :) I enjoyed it.

Well guys,

I'm turning the lights off,

G'night

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., a friend messaged me on facebook today congratulating me for being on the cover of the SunStar paper. (UAF's paper). So cool! I had no idea! Brian brought one home earlier today and my face covers the entire page. My picture takes up the entire front page, kinda crazy! I was like...uh-oh. Hahaha!

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 93 "A special moment deserves a special chocolate." PROMISES Message

A special moment deserves a special chocolate... :) I wonder, what special moment did I have today? Specifically today? Hmmm...I'm not sure. Well...actually, I do know! :) Today life has been kinda hectic, (that's why it took me a moment to figure out and think about what my special moment was today). But today was a bit hectic specifically towards the end of the day. Brian and I both have huge projects due tomorrow. And yes, we're working on them last minute. Bad plan. But that's how it all worked out to be. I know, bummer. But you know what? I've gotta make the best of it. I've been so busy lately that I couldn't take the moment to work on the project, but today I got off work early to get it done. So it worked out. I'm still not done. I plan on researching a bit more and then finishing the project tomorrow morning. It might be a bit stressful but I rather get some sleep. I can't function when I don't get enough sleep, I get really nervy and short tempered. And I'm definitely not fun to be around. :) So, I'm defintiely keen on sleep.

But ANYWAY...today's special moment was that even though both Brian and I were in the middle of all of this craziness, we took the time to just cuddle. Yes, cuddle. We just kinda hugged each other, and it was comforting. It was a moment I enjoyed, because it brought me back to the important things in life, which are the relationships that I have with my husband, family, and friends. Life isn't about work, money, school, looks, or any other thing like that, but life is about who you hurt and who you love, and how you treat other people.

So, right now, I can honestly say, that I love life an am thankful for all of the friens and family in my life. You guys are all a blessing.

Well,

G'night friends!

P.S., What was your special moment today? So far? :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 92 "Do a little special something for yourself everyday." Maryann / Scotch Plains, NJ

Hey guys!

Today has been a very good day. I've just had a lot of fun. :)

My day in bullet points;

  • Woke up
  • Went to the play (our play is held over for another weekend by popular demand of the audience!) And that's pretty cool! :) So, we thought today was the last day, but it's not. I'm ready for a break though. Life has been pretty hectic in the last two months. I'm ready for a month long break. How bout you? :)
  • After the play I went to church and had a lot of fun! It was super chill, we ate "breakfast" for dinner and just had a good time hanging out together. I love my little church family. :)
  • After church I picked Brian up from work and we drove to Kelli's house and we watched "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World." Interesting movie. I wasn't fond of the sexual inuendos in there, but I thought that all of the video game effects were super cool. That made the movie worth it. It was very creative.
  • So...we had fun today! :)
The special thing of the day was going over to Kelli's house and watching the movie because I could'a just went home, cleaned, and have done some of my homework and what not, but instead, I chose to spend time with the people I love. And the latter is always the better option, I believe so. :) I had a blast with them, and I ate some yummy mexican food! So it was good. And now, I am ready for my dreams to kick in. Sleep!

Well guys,

I am pretty excited about the next couple of weeks. I am super looking forward to things slowing down a bit. I need some R&R. (Rest and relaxation).  :)

Well, gots ta go! :)

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., I challenge you to do something special everyday for yourself, whether that taking a bubble bath, going on a date, watching a movie, or eating a chocolate, or even taking a nap. I challenge you to put off your "responsibilites" for an hour or two and just live a litte, just take a break, and enjoy your day. Slow down a bit. You have my permission. It's totally okay to do so. Just relax. K?! :)
G'night guys! :)

And one more thing, here's another cute make-up tutorial by my friend Charis! Enjoy! :)

It was super fun! :) And they had good cake afterwards! Yum! (I'm not usually a cake person, but this one was tasty!). AND, we got to walk the red carpet! How fun is that? It was a blast! Just being around other film makers and actors was fun for me. And I enjoyed watching other's videos. Yeah! :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 90 "Continue to fight - we will win!" - Pat

Oh this is great! =D

I am super excited because our film got submitted into the University of Alaska Film Festival! :) Yeah! And our film is in the running for 6 different awards, best actor/actress, best cinematography, best director, of those that I remember. And tomorrow is the "Red Carpet" event. How fun is that? I am pretty excited about it! I've spent the last 3 hours rummaging through my dresses (which only a few fit me now because I'm not as much of a skinny butt as I used to be, lol), but nonetheless, I found something that I bought this Summer and it fits quite nicely and quite comfortably I might add. Mmmhmm. Comfortable clothes are the best. I'd rather choose comfort over looks any day, however, it's always a plus to have both comfort and looks. ;)

BUT ANYWAY! I am definitely super excited about tomorrow, granted it will be a long day because there's lots to do tomorrow before the event and after the event, I am still looking forward to tomorrow quite a bit. And what I really can't wait to see or rather hear, is the audience's reactions to our short film. Can't wait! Yeah! :)

Well guys,

Off to be I go!

Zoom zoom! :)

And I love today's quote! We'll continue to fight! And hopefully we'll fin! ;)

Goodnight friends!

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., Continue to fight! You WILL win!

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 89 "Always remember you are beautiful." Alicia / Brandon, MS

"Always remember you are beautiful."

That's a funny quote, well not funny, but just very practical for today because I didn't really feel very beautiful at all. In fact, I just got done picking at my face. I really don't like when I do that. It's weird. Anyway..today we took staff Christmas Photos, and we were supposed to take the photos on Monday, so I got all dressed up and spiffed up for Monday, and then we canceled. So then we were planning to take the photos on Tuesday, I got all dressed up for Tuesday, and guess what? You betcha..cancelled. So THEN it's been decided that we would take our photos NEXT Thursday...but today, I got a phone call around 4:30 from a fellow staff member and she asked if I could come in to take Christmas photos. So we took the photos today. I was not in the Christmas Spirit, I was not really dressed up, but I did look like the normal me, which I like (cause I like me, I mean, I have to live with me for the rest of my life, right?)   :) And on top of all that, I was cold and have had an ear splitting headache all day. Which right about now is around 10x worse. I am ready for bed. But I've been feeling a bit insecure lately, maybe that's because I'm getting sick and I'm feeling weird? Or maybe it's other reasons? I dunno. But it's just good to remember that beauty truly does come from the inside, because if you have a pretty face but an ugly attitude/personality, then you're not really beautiful at all. Ya know what I mean?

Well, I just need to remind myself sometimes that I am beautiful inside and out in my own way. I'm by no means a top model or anything, but I am a living, breathing, human being that is full of wishes, dreams, desires and life. And that is beautiful in and of itself. I am beautiful. (And you my dear reader, are quite beautiful too, you are uniquely you).

Alrighty, see ya later gators! :)

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., I bought some glitter from Michaels and have been working on a pretty fun painting for a good portion of the day. I'll post up some pics on here when I'm done! Yeah! :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 88 "Believe in yourself!" Susan / Macon, GA

Guess what? :)

Today I auditioned for the play called "Smokey Joe's Cafe." Granted there were only four of us auditioning, and that I was the youngest, It still went pretty well. Well...maybe I did feel a little bit foolish because I couldn't impersinate both Lady Gaga or Tayler Smith. LOL. The director asked us to sing normally, and then for the second round she gave us people to imitate. At first she gave me Lady Gaga, and I thought, uh...how would I begin to do this? LOL. Then the other guys auditioning looked at me and said, "no, Lady Gaga just doesn't seem to fit her." LOL! Boy, am I glad someone thought so besides me. LOL. And I don't think I did Tayler much justice. I think I failed. LOL. Well, anyway. All is well, I did my best. You know when you try out for something and you practice it one way, and with confidence, but when it comes down to actually performing your part, everything you've held on to kinda slip right from under you? Well, I that happened to me quite a lot. I even forgot the lyrics to the songs I was singing (good thing I had a hard copy of them right in front of me) and I'm also not the most coordinated person in the world. Well, mind you, I am coordinated, but it takes me forever to learn a dance routine. I'm just not that sharp when it comes to memorizing dances. It's true. So, although I felt like a complete fool during my audition, I think I did quite alright. And the director asked me to come back for the final audition on Saturday. So we shall see what goes down. You think I have a chance? Possibly..probably a small one. But a chance nonetheless! :) I believe in myself. And whether I get it or not, great, because if I do, I get to have more experience in acting and if I don't, then I will look forward to a break in my hectic little life. :)

Oh, and today, before the audition, I had an hour to kill, so I stopped by Chartruese (a super cute clothing shop here in town), and I talked to the owner about maybe doing a consignment for art work sometime in the future for a First Friday event, and she said we had an opening for January 7th and that she needed someone! So she pencilied me in. We're on! Yeah! :) I'm pretty excited to have the opportunity to sell my artwork. I painted this galaxy looking abstract painting, I'll post a picture of it on here when it dries. :) I like to use glitter and jewelry in my painting. It just makes it more fun.

Well guys, I have one month to create a plethora of paintings! Think I can do it? I dunno, but I think I have faith in myself, I believe I can do this! I am so challenging myself on this. I'll post up future paintings up here so you can be the judge of them. Give me a heads up or two on whether I should enter it into the First Friday gallery or not.

Well guys,

Off I go.

I've been craving sleep ALL DAY. And I have a not so fun headache.

K.K!!!

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier :)

P.S., Do you believe in yourself? I challenge you to believe in your dreams! Whether they are big or small!!! Dreams are dreams no matter the size!!! :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 87 "Create memories that will last a lifetime." Joanne / Hackettstown, NJ

Hola amigos! :D

I promise I haven't given up on the blog! Here are my excuses for not blogging the last two days

A). Sunday the internet was down
B). I was working on my big time presentation just the night before the presentation...and I was pooped. Trust me, I wasn't planning on working on it so last minute, I planned to get it done by Friday, but it didn't work out for reasons like the ones above.

So yes, those are my excuses. Lame. I know. :) But legit.

Oh, my legs are so sore from sitting, and my eyes feel droopy. I is teird. ;)

Well...guess what? I think I did pretty well on my presentation! It was for my Russian literature class (I started the book last night and I didn't finish it, but I knew enough). I was quite a bit nervous for the presentation because I was unprepared, but I'm very happy with it because it turned out pretty great.

Well..that's done and over with, and all I've got to say is, *phew*, what relief! :P

So...about creating memories that will last...I was acting super goofy today at work, and all of the kids thought so too. I felt like a kid myself. And I think it was good. We all related to each other better. :) I work around a lot of rascally boys, some girls, but mostly boys (I work at a skate park) so I get a lot of silliness out of them. And it was just good to be silly with them today instead of getting annoyed at them. Ha. :)

And today, as I was washing dishes in the kitchen, Brian was being kind of obnoxious, very ornery. So I was getting mad at him. And you see, we have this thing that happens between us (it's really quite a moment), that when either one of us get pretty mad, if one of us starts laughing, (because we both realize the silliness of the situation, or the fact that yelling is not us), when one of us starts laughing...it becomes a comedy, not a tragedy and we just go off into a laughing spasm. It's so frustrasting because I want to be mad and stay mad, but I end up laughing my guts out. And it's those little crucial moments that change everything, that create memories that will last a life time. You see, that little moment when we look at in each other's eyes are realize the silliness of the situation, those are the moments that change the course of our history, the course of our relationship as we speak. I think it's a good thing. Because when I chose to stay mad..things blow up, and I'd rather have laughter any day over anger.

Well guys,

I'm off to ...clean?? And then I'm going to bed!!! ACTUALLY, I'm going to go warm up some tea. :) I'm in the mood for some tea...and I need to stretch my legs cause they feel like jello!!!

Arowa guys! (not sure if I spelled that right, probably not!)

Love you guys!

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., what memories have you created that you wouldn't change for the world? :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 86 "Dance with your heart." Kelly / Aitkin, MN

OH! I love this quote!

Because guess what?!? That's exactly what I have been doing for the past hour! I've been on youtube checking out songs from my childhood! And I've been singing my little heart out to them! :) Here's one of them;

I can't count how many times I've watched this movie (over and over and over). :)

You've heard of this going on, on facebook haven't you? "Change your default facebook picture to a cartoon from your childhood. The goal? To not see a human face on facebook until Monday the 6th of Dec. Join the fight against child abuse, and invite your friends to do the same :)

Well, I wanna challenge all bloggers to do the same. :) I am changing mine to;

Well, and here's one more song that's definitely been a part of my childhood! ;)

This is what I wrote on facebook;

HAHAHA!!! This, I definitely grew up on! ;) Family tradition, watch this movie every Christmas season. I remember plotting traps for thieves when I was little (you know, just in case I was ever left alone and some unexpected visitors decided to show up...I always hoped they would so they would test my traps. lol). I actually did up the laundry room once, and my sister walked into it and was like, "what the heck?" :

Well lollies and jellyspoons,

I am going to slumber land.

Nighty night!

-Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., I bought a chocolate yesterday, and when I went to go open it, there were three chocolates missing. I asked Brian if he ate my chocolate, he said no...(turns out someone stole and ate 3 chocolate squares at the store and put it back on the shelf!!! :( lol...it's kinda funny, when it doesn't happen to you. lol.

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 85 "All persons of action are dreamers." PROMISES Message

GUESS WHAT? Today I didn't use a regular Dove Chocolate for the quote of the day. Today I used the Dove Chocolate Promises online; http://www.dovechocolate.com/promises.html  Although I still actually ate one. :) I bought the peanut butter kind (the caramel ones are my favorite, I meant to buy those yesterday by the way, but I didn't look at the package closely and ended up buying peanut butter..eh, I like peanut butter too, tastes like a reeces, yum!).

Wowzers! I've had a looooong day! But a good one at that! Here's a brief bullet point of my day;

  • Woke up at 8:30am
  • Arrived at theater for 9:30am call for 10:30am school performance
  • Noon; came home
  • Shower
  • Work
  • Organized desk space (double thumbs up)
  • Left work early, amazing co-workers covered me.
  • Arrived at Pioneer Park at 5:00pm for pre-rehersal make-up
  • Rehersal
  • Dressed up, got my hair all curled up like Marlyn Monroe's by a pro hairdresser! :)
  • 7:30pm began an evening of a magical Sweet Adeline's Christmas Concert
  • HAD LOADS OF FUN! (ALMOST FORGOT MY SOLO!!!) **Remembered it when I opened my mouth to sing my solo..**phew** (wipes sweat off of forehead).  :)
  • Went over to Mark's house with Brian after Christmas Concert.
  • Ate Mark's food.
  • Fell asleep on Mark's couch.
  • Heard the beautiful sounds of Brian and Mark serenading and playing on the guitar (they're trying to make a cool stop motion video, getting ideas).
  • Came home.
  • Thought I would flop over, but I'm somehow still awake writing this blog.
  • Am now going to bed.
  • What a beautiful end to a perfect day! (Perfect in the must unperfect sense, it was SPLENDID day). Yeah, that's the right word, splendid! :)
LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Hope you're having a Merry Season so far! :) That reminds me...I need to decorate our apartment with some Christmas spirit!!! Yeah!!! Time to dig up our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree from the storage area. ;)

Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., guys! Check out this youtube channel that my friend made! She is awesome! Very talented, and a cutie pie!

(It's a make-up tutorial) P.S., you can go check out her youtube channel and watch her engagement video! It's one of the sweetest I've ever seen captured on camera. :)

Or you know, I'll just post it here. :)

HAHAHAHA!!! Hey guys! I just logged back in...I completely spaced talking about today's quote! Well, this is all I'm going to say; my dream was to sing and perform with the Sweet Adelines, I joined them in August, and it's been an amazing experience getting to know all of these ladies and having the honor of singing with them. They are so much fun! Performing today was one of my dreams. And it came true! Yeah! Oh, and on an even more personal note, today's quote means to me that we strive to live for a purpose, and that purpose is usually a dream in our hearts, whether that is to see your kids get better lives and make healthier choices, acting, becoming a rock start, being a loving stay at home mom, finishing your education, finally going on that one vacation that you've been saving for, or simply singing in a Christmas show concert that you've been planning for. Our actions are the sum of our dreams. Our dreams are the engines to our actions. Without dreams and visions we perish. We have no hope. But with dreams, we have striving, effort, and basically life. :) That's my point of view. Everybody is moving with purpose, we're all trying to achieve a dream, and that dream looks different to everyone. But nevertheless, we are all striving, unless we are dead.

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 84 "Share a secret over a chocolate." PROMISES Message

Hey!

I would love to share a little secret over a chocolate! :) Right now I'm watching the movie, "Yours, Mine, and Ours." And I've come to the realization that I want a big family! :) I know that Brian and I agreed on having 3 kids someday in the future. But I think now I'm realizing that I would like to have more. I want a BIG happy family. And yet I know that Brian doesn't really want to have A LOT of kids, but I say, starting with at least four is a great start. :) I've always liked four as an even number.

But ya know, we shall see what the future will hold. :)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 83 "Always smile, it disguises wrinkles!" Patricia / Phoenix, MD

Wrinkles!!!

I actually started to develop my first set of eye wrinkles about a month ago! Crazy!

But yes, I agree with the statement, "always smile, it disguises wrinkles!" Maybe not so much so that it disguises the wrinkles but that it actually makes them more attractive when smiling. :) And anyway, aren't smiling wrinkles a good thing? :)

Well, as you know, I am a striving actress (or starving actress..one or the other, just kidding!), and for the past hour and a half I've basically been doo-wah-dittling away one the computer looking up youtube interviews with actors and behind the scene junk. It's been fun. That's my way of taking a break and relaxing! :)

I actually better get to bet very soon here because I have a school performance for "The Miracle Worker" tomorrow and call time is at 9:30am. I am going to regret staying up once morning comes around. Lately, I've turned into a hard-knock sleeper. I used to be a much lighter sleeper, well, I mean, I still am a light sleeper but defnintely not a light a sleeper as I used to be. Albeit I'm not like my husband though who can sleep through a train.

Well, guess what? Today the car broke down while driving again! BUT, we fixed it tonight. All it needed was some good ol' ISO-HEET because there was ice in the fuel lines. So wa-la! Twenty minutes of car running with ISO-HEET solved the problem. Now we're good. We did a test drive to Fred Myers for groceries and we made it! :) No breakdowns or shlumps! Yeah! Believe you me, I wore the warmest clothes that I have for just in case (well, not THE warmest, but very warm). You know, I just wanted to be prepared just in case we did actually break down and had to walk home in -20 degree weather. Two words; double everything. Double hats, double socks, bear paw boots, long-johns, pants, undershirt, shirt, wool-knit sweater, and a sturdy jacket as well as the most warmest scarf that I could find. That's the way to do it, that's just the way to do it. There's no other way. You gotta go all the way warm. And I succeeded. :)

Well, today was a pretty decent day. It was a good day but a cold one. And, believe it or not, it's getting warmer! Today was warmer than yesterday! It was -18* below and yesterday was -25* :) So yeah. Warmer. :) Emma picked me and Brian up for work today since our car didn't wanna listen (since it went caput again).

Well guys,
I better sign out
Both off of this computer and mentally.
Time for a good night's rest.

K.K! Much Love!

Love Your Fellow Chocolatier :)

P.S., Smile! Its disguises your wrinkles! (Go ahead, I know you want to give me that huge grinch smile that curls from ear to ear!)   ;)

Dove Chocolate Challenge Day # 82 " Enjoy this moment!" Annmarie / Columbia, OH

Hey there!

Today has been a crazy day! I am ready for bed, it's 3:38am!

It's been super crazy cold in Fairbanks, Alaska today, we had -25 degree weather! And I tell ya what! Burrrr!!!! It's cold!!!! No fun! :(

On my way to class today, my hands were burning from the cold because I forgot my gloves. I mean, it was only but a 5 minute walk from the house to the classroom, but still...ouch! My hands felt like icicles! It felt like someone was holding dry ice on my skin. Definitely not fun. And on the way back from class. I kinda started running the closer I got to the house (it was freezing!). It's days like these that make me wonder why the heck I live in Alaska in the first place. Although the Summers are magical with their 24/7 daylight and all, three months of summer does not beat the 6 months of super cold winter....sigh. I think I've finally come to the conclusion that I am only here because some of the people that are dear to my heart and that I love very much live here, which makes it all worthwhile somehow, right? Well...now I'm sitting here blogging. Oh. By the way, on top of the freezing cold weather and my hands exploding with the cold (it's dangerous weather out there folks, people can get frost bite...easily), I had choir rehersal today, which I missed because when I tried to open my car door, the key didn't want to go into the key whole because it was frozen! But when I did finally open the door after minutes of jamming that key inside the key whole, I managed to start the car after about a minute and had to leave it running for the next 20 minutes for it to defrost and so that the heaters actually blow a decent amount of warm air. And...well...after 20 minutes I got inside my half chilled car and headed toward choir rehersal half way across town. As I was driving about a minute into the drive, I heard a still small voice say it's best to just stay home and turn around, because you're not going to make it very far, and sure enough...seconds later the heater started blowing softer, and then it completely died, and right after the heater turned off...my car turned off. My car died right in the middle of a street section. It just went caput. And so I turned my blinkers (hazard lights) on and sat there. I called Brian in the middle of class, and of course he didn't pick up, but he did text me back. And then, (since we live right next to the fire station), a fire fighter pulled up right in front of me and asked if I was alright, I said I wasn't sure, so he pulled up behind me and put his hazard lights on as well. When I was talking with him...I tried to open the door, but my doors wouldn't open either, so I had to role down the window as much as I could (which was a slow process) to try to communicate with him. He stayed with me for a few minutes, I texted "Emergency" to Brian and he called me back. In the middle of talking to Brian, the fire fighter came up to me and asked if there was enough heat in the car and if I lived far away, I said no, I live close by, and the heat is alright. His final question was if help was on the way, and I said, "well, I'm trying to get some, but yes." And it seemed as though he was in a hurry, so he referred me back to the fire station behind me and said "if you need any help, just walk up to that door and the guys will help you, I've let them know." So that was very nice of him. So I had the car turned off because I didn't want the battery to run dead. I mean, the car was already dead but I didn't want to waste and extra juice left in it. So I battled the cold for a couple of minutes because the heat has finally dissappeared. So basically, I was just waiting for Brian and looking out for him because he was on his way. I also thought of calling Mike, our Pastor, to help us out (we can always count on Mike to help us out, he has done so much for us in the past...in fact...he helped Brian out yesterday with that blown out tire). Mike is like our dad. :) It's cool to have a father figure like that in our lives since both of our dads live far away. I couldn't call Mike though because I just got a new phone and it doesn't have any of my old contacts in it. Bummer. Yeah, we tried that phone transfer but my old phone was really jacked up so they couldn't transfer any of my contacts. But anyway, as I was sitting there waiting for Brian, I had the bright idea of possibly just trying to start the car. I was hoping that somehow, there would be enough juice in it left over to drive those 100 meters home. And sure enough! Wa-la! The car started back up and as fast and safely as I could, I drove back to the house. And I made it! Yeah! And not but a minute later did I hear Brian running down the stairs towards our apartment. He asked me, "what happened? I just ran all the way around the fire station." And I told him that the car miraculously started back up and I made it just in time for the house.

So...we have yet to figure out what's wrong with the car, we have a couple of ideas, but nothing is sure. So we're going to try to take the car in tomorrow. How, I'm not so sure yet, but we will try, and I will wear the warmest clothes that I own just in case the car decides to break down again.

Well...that's been my day. And honestly...right now I'm really enjoying the moment of being in a warm house, having a roof over my head, food to eat, electricity, and for having a comfortable bed to sleep on. I am most definitely enjoying this moment.

Okay guys!

I am going to bed.

Adios!

Love Your Fellow Chocolatier

P.S., Are you enjoying this very exact moment? This day? Even if it's a bad day, what's been good about it? Find the good in it. Count some of your blessings. It helps. :) I know I did.
